Actually, this is way more accurate then most realize...
When Lauren Faust started directing, and when characters for the Mane 6 were first produced, Pinkie was actually originally drawn as a Pegasus.
But the concept was scrapped for the earth-pony model to help balance the characters we see in the show; two unicorns, two pegasi, and two earth-ponies.
So while this is a comic, and a well drawn one by the way, it actually coincides with early production ideas, and is, in a way, canon.
Kind of adds to the dark factor, no?
